HOW DOES IT FEEL?

       HARD, SOFT, ROUGH, SMOOTH, SPONGY, STICKY, BUMPY, SLICK, textures are all around us. They are everywhere, you can feel them on you hand when you touch something or for instance in your mouth when you eat something.

        This term our fifth graders are going to learn about Textures. We'll show them the variety of textures that are around us everyday and they will discover them by exploring.   

      In this Didactic Unit our pupils will be able to know different types of textures, describe qualities of textures, learn different techniques to work with textures, use textures in a composition, make an artwork using different textures and finally they will be able to have fun.

Durante este trimestre nuestros alumnos de la sección bilingüe continúan aumentando sus conocimientos sobre los elementos del arte, le toca el turno a la TEXTURA. Como todos sabemos, la textura es la  propiedad de la superficie externa de los objetos que podemos percibir a través de los sentidos (tacto, vista, gusto) La rugosidad, la suavidad, aspereza, etc son sensaciones que transmite este elemento, sensaciones que pretendemos que experimenten nuestros chicos durante estos días y consigan ser un poco más creativos y receptivos.

Consideramos que indagar en este elemento le servirá, además, para aumentar los conocimientos de los diferentes materiales que pueden utilizar en cualquier composición artística, les ayudará a observar con más detenimiento el medio que nos rodea y así, reconocer en él,  una infinidad de posibilidades de representación. En definitiva, es una herramienta muy útil para comunicar y expresar ideas en cualquier idioma.
