HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!!
First stop: RUSSIA!!!
In the second term, we landed in Russia, the country
where Wassily Kandinsky was born. He is one of the most famous artists in the
20th century and he is well-known for his abstract pictures. After
analyzing his style we focused on his picture “Squares with concentric
circles”, the one which inspired us to create those magnificent trees!!!
Primera
parada: Rusia.
Second stop: THE UNITED KINGDOM AND HUNGARY!!!
After visiting Russia, we decided to take a plane to
The United Kingdom and Hungary. There, we became researchers for some weeks and
learned about “Optical Art”. This visual style was created in the 6o’s and it
uses optical illusions. The main feature of “Op Art” pieces is that they seem
to move because their designs play tricks on our vision. Victor Vasarely
and Bridget Riley are some of the most important artists in this movement and
we focused on their artworks to create our own optical illusions!!!
Segunda parada: El Reino
New
term and new country: FRANCE!!!
After
Easter break, we visited France and met the impressionists!!! Our kids were
really enthusiastic about Seurat and the technique of pointillism, in which
tiny dots are combined in order to form a picture. It looked so great painting
this way that we decided to put in practice this technique colouring some apples.
It was really funny and the results were excellent!!
Nuevo trimestre y nuevo país:
FRANCIA.
Last destiny: AUSTRIA
Gustav
Klimt was born there. He was a specialist decorating walls and he also made
portraits on demand. That is the case of “Adèle’s portrait”. First of all, we
studied the amazing history of the picture and then, we decorated a big copy of
it using different materials as potatoes, forks, bottle tops, etc…
